Sam Lamb (she/her/hers)
MS student, Wildlife Ecology Program, Texas State University I am studying how morphological differences can occur between urban and rural populations of canids, specifically Gray foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus). I am mainly looking at cranial and dentition differences that are potentially based in dietary or other functional changes due to urbanization. Other interests include wildlife photography, mammal tracking and trapping, museum prep and organization, and all things outdoorsy. |
Alyssa Arguijo (she/her/hers)
MS student, Wildlife Ecology Program, Texas State University I aim to examine variations in cranial morphology of endangered Red wolves (Canis rufus), comparing captive, reintroduced, and wild populations, and those who have hybridized with coyotes. My overall research interests include examining wildlife adaptability to human impacts, specifically in terms of morphology and behavior. I have experience in environmental consulting, where I have worked closely with the Endangered Species Act and other regulations involving wildlife protection. I like to spend my free time riding horses, painting, reading, and birding. |

I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Geology at Texas A&M University. I joined the Trait Tales project at A&M under Leila in the spring of 2023, studying the diet and ecology of modern and fossil carnivoran mammals. I presented a research poster on the project at two research symposiums at A&M and at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology meeting in 2023. I plan to continue working with the team until graduation and pursue a career in vertebrate paleontology in the future. |
Marina Oxanna Salel (she/her/hers)
I am a second year Biology undergraduate student at Texas A&M University. I am interested in entering a career that focuses on academia. My plan is to stay focused on the environmental sciences while still working in ecological conservation. I would love to stay on the topic of how industrialization and urbanization affects the ecosystem. I love experiencing hands-on research experience in the outdoors field, museum organization, and anything artistic. |
Triniti Clarke (she/her/hers)
I am an undergraduate at Texas A&M University majoring in Environmental Geosciences with a focus on Ocean and Marine Environments, graduating in December 2023. I began working with Leila in Spring 2023; helping to conduct ecomectric research that highlights the relationship between morphology, functionality, and the environment and how those relationships change over time. In my free time, I enjoy painting, crocheting, and camping. |

I began undergraduate research at A&M under Leila in the spring of 2023 during my sophomore year, studying the diet and ecology of modern and fossil carnivoran mammals. I presented a research poster on the project at the 2023 Ecological Integration Symposium. I plan to continue working with this team until graduation. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University, and I plan to pursue a career in wildlife management. |
